The Marietta Daily Journal – MCS considers hiring consultant for pay changes

MARIETTA — As Marietta City Schools moves forward with a pay-for-performance system for teachers, the school board may also hire a consultant to help define the pay structure for non-classroom staff.

The board will consider approving a $135,575 contract set to run through June 2014 with Sandy Springs-based Greenway Strategy Management on Oct. 15.

“We needed to bring in somebody that could help us with this project that had the experience and could hit the ground running and get a lot accomplished,” Superintendent Emily Lembeck said.

Lembeck asked Martha Greenway to give a proposal to the board Friday.

Lembeck said Greenway did a great job helping her staff develop Marietta’s 10-year charter renewal application, its strategic plan and its accreditation with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools over the last year.
