MARIETTA — Cobb Sheriff Neil Warren underwent surgery for a fractured vertebrae Monday morning, an injury he sustained in a Thursday car accident on Interstate 75.
Warren, 66, has been in good spirits, laughing with visitors to his room at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, and is expected to have a quick recovery, said Nancy Bodiford, executive assistant to Warren.
Though he has a fractured vertebrae, Bodiford said Warren is not paralyzed.
A post on the sheriff’s Facebook page by his daughter, Liz, said, “He is alert and in good spirits, but currently unable to respond to (Facebook) messages. He appreciates each one.”
