Temple budget approval expected – Times-Georgian: News

The Temple City Council is expected on Tuesday to approve its fiscal year 2014 budget, and may vote on a measure to lower water bills.

The council held a public hearing on April 7, during which City Attorney Cynthia Daly read the 2014 budget ordinance for the first time. Two public readings are required by law, with the second reading scheduled at the council’s April 15 meeting.

On April 7, during a meeting that lasted more than four hours, the City Council spent much of its time discussing personnel issues after City Clerk Angie Costner and several other department heads recently resigned their positions. The city signed a temporary contract with Pat Cook as interim city clerk. The council approved Cook unanimously, 4-0. Cook served as city clerk several years ago when Mayor Lester Harmon was in office the first time.
