For the moment, the Republicans appear to have the slightest edge in the fight for control of the Senate.

According to Leo, the Upshot’s Senate model, the Republicans have a 55 percent chance of retaking the chamber this November, up from 47 percent last Friday, as a result of strong polls for Republicans in Iowa and Georgia. But the shift isn’t as significant as you might think.

[T]he most recent polls have swung slightly against Michelle Nunn in Georgia, where the Republicans Jack Kingston and David Perdue just advanced into the runoff for the Republican nomination.

Crossing the 50 percent threshold feels like a momentous change, but in reality things have stayed much the same.
