State election board gives Hall elections director letter of instruction | AccessNorthGa

GAINESVILLE – The press secretary for the Georgia Secretary of State said the State Election Board voted to give Hall County’s Director of Elections a letter of instruction.

The board Tuesday took up a report issued by the secretary of state’s office related to 14 alleged violations of the state election code in last July’s primary election in Hall County.

Jared Thomas said the letter would instruct Charlotte Sosebee on how to proceed in the future if faced with similar situations.

Thomas said the board decided against sending the case to the Georgia Attorney General’s Office for further investigation.

The alleged violations in the report found that that Shanon Lutz, wife of Hall County Commissioner Craig Lutz, was allowed to vote twice in the election, and that county elections workers were responsible for the error that allowed those two votes.
