U.S. Senators Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., and Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga., today released the following statement applauding the administration’s decision to nominate Sally Yates, U.S. attorney for Georgia’s Northern District, to the position of deputy attorney general:
“Sally Yates is an exceptionally skilled attorney with a strong record of public service and a well-qualified nominee to be deputy attorney general. She has served with distinction as U.S. attorney for Georgia’s Northern District and throughout her career has demonstrated her abilities as a talented prosecutor in a wide array of challenging cases.
Her 22 years of experience in the U.S. attorney’s office and her role as vice chair of the Attorney General’s Advisory Committee make her well-suited for the responsibilities of this job, and we congratulate her on her selection for such an important position.”
