Saxby Chambliss’ chief of staff departs for Emory | Political Insider | www.ajc.com

Before U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss rides off into the sunset, his chief of staff is taking off for a government relations job at Emory University. Charlie Harman, who has been Chambliss’ chief since 2007, will leave in August.

Here’s what Chambliss had to say, in a statement to the AJC:

“When I interviewed Charlie Harman for the chief of staff position, I asked him what his hobbies were. He replied, ‘I don’t have a hobby, I just like to work.’ That turned out to be true. Charlie has been an invaluable member of my team for six successful years, and his dedication and enthusiasm for my office will be greatly missed. On August 5th, Charlie will join Emory University as its Vice President for Government Relations. I congratulate Charlie and wish him well in his new position.”
