The race for retiring U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss’ seat is getting smaller.
U.S. Rep. Tom Price, R-Roswell, told the Marietta Daily Journal Friday that he’s decided to seek re-election to his suburban Atlanta congressional seat rather than butt heads with several Republican colleagues in next year’s Senate primary.
Price’s departure from the Senate contest leaves Reps. Paul Broun of Athens, Phil Gingrey of Marietta and Jack Kingston of Savannah to battle for the Republican nomination to succeed Chambliss, who announced in January that he wouldn’t seek a third term.
