Some of Macon’s most polarizing figures have been busy on social media lately.
In one case, The Telegraph ran a story quoting former Bibb County Democratic Party chairmen, who said City Councilwoman Elaine Lucas and others were less than friendly. Lucas said, “Lots of organizations go through changes. This is a non-story.”
Yet for such a non-story, Lucas shared the story on her Facebook wall, saying, “We are a party of change and inclusion,” then “liking” her post and adding another comment, “It is good we can move quickly to change our leadership when we feel the need. Bravo for Democrats!!!”
Lucas also shared the post on the wall of Bibb County’s Democratic Party.
Separately, Erick Erickson, the former Macon city councilman who makes a living off right-wing punditry, reacted to the effective banning of abortion in large swaths of Texas. He sent a tweet, “Dear Liberals, go bookmark this site now,” with a link to a seller of bulk clothes hangers.
Erickson later deleted the tweet and apologized — not to the target of his tweet, but to the seller of the hangers.
Erickson’s column in The Telegraph that morning began, “The worst thing about America is the politicization of everything.”
