Here’s what the governor had to say when we caught him outside a Sandy Springs luncheon:

“I think we have to be careful. Am I in favor of green energy? Absolutely. But there comes a tradeoff, and that tradeoff is reliability and cost. There has to be a sustainable energy source and those sustainable energy sources are being addressed very appropriately in our state …

“I’m not opposed to looking at it. I just want us to be careful that we don’t do something simply because it sounds good without understanding all the ramifications.”

Later, when prodded about whether he supported the plan, he added this: “I have great difficulty mandating what an energy portfolio must look like.”
