Michael Opitz endorses Bob Barr for Congress from GA-11

Bob Barr is honored to receive the endorsement of Michael Opitz. “Michael is a respected leader in Cobb County and across Georgia, well known as a man of integrity, and a champion of the Constitution and limited government. I am glad to have him as a part of my campaign team,” said Barr.

Michael Opitz, who was active in Barr’s first campaign for Congress and a former 11th Congressional District candidate for Congress stated, “Bob Barr has the experience and a proven track record of accomplishing conservative goals in Congress. He was an outstanding federal prosecutor appointed by President Reagan – something we need more of in Congress these days.”

“Given the challenges before our nation, we need a strong voice in Congress whom we trust to do the right thing without being prodded. Bob led the impeachment inquiry against Bill Clinton, so we know that that he has the leadership necessary for today’s political environment, and he doesn’t buckle.”

Michael Opitz is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served as a Special Agent in the Office of Special Investigations (OSI). Michael was a Republican candidate for Congress in GA 11 in 2012. Michael retired from AT&T/Lucent Technologies, and is currently a registered Georgia Mediator/Arbitrator as a partner in Turning Points Mediation, LLC. Michael is a husband and father and has been a resident of Cobb County Georgia for 32 years.
