Maggie’s List Endorses Karen Handel

Maggie’s List, a federal political action committee dedicated to electing conservative women to federal office, is proud to announce the endorsement of former Georgia Secretary of State Karen Handel for Georgia’s open U.S. Senate seat.  This endorsement signals the statewide appeal for Handel’s proven conservative statewide leadership under challenging circumstances and the worst recession since the Great Depression.

“Karen Handel is a seasoned leader with a record of solid conservatism at the local and state level.  She has led the state in reducing budget deficits while cutting waste in internal office budgets and has a clear history of encouraging job growth,” says Sandra B. Mortham, Chairman of Maggie’s List and former Florida Secretary of State.  “Karen delivers a potent combination of fiscal conservatism, less government, more personal responsibility and strong national security – she will be a strong conservative voice in the U.S. Senate.”

Karen Handel states, “Maggie’s List is one of the leading conservative grassroots organizations in America that works to elect conservative women and I am honored to have their endorsement. I look forward to Maggie’s List members supporting my campaign across Georgia and spreading my message of achieving proven conservative results. As Georgia’s next senator I will be an unwavering voice for our shared conservative principles. Together we can bring some much needed common sense to Washington and put solving problems ahead of the next election.”

According to the Center for American Women and Politics at Rutgers University, there is a significant discrepancy between the percentage of women voters in the overall electorate (56%) versus the percentage of women serving in the United States Congress (19%). Additionally, a mere 293 women have ever served in the United States Congress. Electing Karen Handel helps reverse this trend and provides proven conservative leadership to our nation.
The Maggie’s List endorsement will be presented at Karen Handel’s 100 Days to Primary Rally on Sunday, February 9th from 2:00-4:00 pm at the Hilton Doubletree Hotel in Roswell, GA.
