Insurance firm seeks $431K from Augusta, wants to pay Alston & Bird – Atlanta Business Chronicle

Aetna (NYSE: AET) subsidiary Meritain is seeking nearly a half-million dollars from Augusta, following the company’s win in a legal battle with the city over its bidding process.

The company filed a civil suit after the Augusta Commission voted to give Blue Cross Blue Shield the contract to oversee the city employees’ self-insured health insurance fund, reports The Augusta Chronicle. The commission later denied Meritain’s protest to the bid, the paper said.
