Gwinnett Daily Post | Gwinnett DA named secretary of statewide council

ATLANTA — Gwinnett County District Attorney Danny Porter has been named an officer for a statewide council.

Porter, Gwinnett’s DA since 1992, was recently elected as secretary of the Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council of Georgia and will serve in the role until June 30, 2014. The PACG aids the state’s prosecuting attorneys in their efforts against criminal activity by providing legal support, budgeting, research and extensive training.

Porter was one of two new council officers. Denise Fachini, district attorney of the Cordele judicial circuit, was named chair.

“We are pleased to have these talented and committed public servants on our council,” Chuck Spahos, executive director of PACG, said. “Their communities, and our state, are well served and we are looking forward to a very productive year.”
