Gwinnett Daily Post | $2 million grant to help homeless veterans

A $2 million grant to help homeless veterans was awarded to a local organization in metro Atlanta.

The United Way of Greater Atlanta’s Regional Commission on Homelessness was given the grant to help more than 300 veterans and their familes in Gwinnett, Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb and Fulton counties. It’s called the Supportive Services for Veteran Families grant. A group called Vets Connect reaches out to homeless veterans and introduces them to services and transitional housing through peer specialists and case managers.
