Greene County Commissioners spent more than two hours on Thursday, August 1, reviewing and discussing the county’s Fiscal Year 2014 budget.
It also approved putting the SPLOST VI referendum on the November 5 general election ballot. The passage of SPLOST VI will help pay for many of the items on the 2014 budget such as new roads, ambulances and sheriff’s vehicles. The one percent sales tax issue has a five-run-year of citizen approval.
Finally, the GCC put its stamp of approval on two resolutions authorizing referendums for Sunday package sales of alcohol and Sunday consumption on the premises sales of alcohol.
