Georgia Launches Online Voter Registration and Mobile Voting Information Application | Valdosta Today – Valdosta and Lowndes County’s News Source

AUGUSTA, GA – Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp launched two new technology advances on Monday that will serve Georgia voters.  The first is online voter registration, as well as a mobile application that enables voter registration and will have all the capabilities of “My Voter Page”.

“In 2012, I worked with legislative leaders to craft a law that would allow for online voter registration.  We did this because Georgian’s deserve to be able to register to vote or change their information with as much ease as possible.  This not only will provide benefits to the voter, but also for all 159 Georgia counties,” said Kemp.

Georgia citizens will have to a have a valid Georgia driver’s license in order to use the online voter registration system.

Counties will be able to process new registrations in the same way that the Department of Driver Services sends electronic registration information.  Less paper will create efficiencies that will save time and money.

“I want to personally thank the Department of Driver Services for their assistance in this operation,” said Kemp.  “They have been a great partner.”
