Georgia Adoptable Dogs for July 25, 2013

Meet Manny, a former stray from the Newnan, Ga. area. Manny was found and cared for by a young man, but his father demanded that another home be found for Manny.

Manny is thought to be a Catahoula Leopard Dog/Mountain Cur Mix and he’s available for adoption from Southern Comfort Animal Rescues Services in Glenwood, Ga.

Manny is a very friendly dog, getting along great with all people and other dogs. He is full of energy so a home without small children would be best. Manny would not do well in a home with cats. Manny is house and crate trained.

Skyler, a Border Collie mix, is healthy, energetic, smart and very protective – a good companion for someone to exercise with. Her current owner, who has a number of other dogs, wishes to find her a new home, one that can offer Skyler more one-on-one time. Skyler is available for adoption through Southern Comfort Animal Rescue Services in Glenwood, Ga.

She is fully vaccinated and will be spayed prior to an adoption. Skyler has been on a monthly heart worm preventative and is heart worm free.

Skyler can escape a 4′ fence, so a 6′ fence or indoor living would be best.

This stunning Chocolate Lab was found as a stray in Dublin, Ga. by a family that kept her as long as they could before surrendering her to Southern Comfort Animal Rescue in Glenwood, Ga. She’s listed as a Chocolate Lab, but I strongly suspect one of her parents was a Viszla.Scarlett is a very friendly girl, both to people of all ages and to other dogs alike. She has shown no aggression at all, just a desire to please.

Scarlett loves to play fetch with just about anything you’ll toss for her. She’ll retrieve an item and bring it back to you, sitting on command while alertly waiting for you to throw again.Scarlett has signs of either rope/tether burns, from being kept on a runner, or from some type of chemical burn on her back. While her coat has grown back nicely, you’ll still see the scars from whatever caused this old injury. She does seem to be afraid of water and storms, which also leads us to believe she was forced to live outdoors and left alone. Scarlett does show some house training skills, even being crate trained, but will need a little more guidance to fully master all phases of being a great indoor dog. She seems to thrive on human contact.

This striking fellow is known as Tebow, an American Bulldog mix, and he is available for adoption from Southern Comfort Pet Rescue in Glenwood, Ga. He wandered onto a man’s property one day with scars on his head and body. We’re not positive, but Tebow may have been a ‘bait’ dog for some fighter.

Tebow already knew commands like ‘sit’, ‘stay’ and ‘shake’. He is very friendly to humans and shows no aggression towards them. We’re not sure how he’ll be around cats.

Tebow is a courtesy listing for the man that currently is offering him a place to stay. Being that this man is disabled and on limited funds, Tebow has yet to be neutered and could use an update on his vaccines.
