Gary Gerrard Announces Candidacy for State House District 120

Greensboro – Today Conservative Republican Gary Gerrard announced his candidacy for State Representative in Georgia’s 120th State House District.

“I am honored to announce my candidacy for the position of State Representative”, Gerrard said. “I was a great admirer of the work done by Representative Mickey Channell during his many years of service and I look forward to serving the fine people in District 120 as their dedicated public servant in the Georgia State House.”

Longtime State Representative Mickey Channell is retiring, and Gerrard is running to replace him in the Special election on January 6, 2015.

“Georgia faces trying times. I will fight for the issues that matter to my friends and neighbors in the counties of Greene, Oglethorpe, Putnam, Taliaferro and Wilkes Counties,”

Gerrard said. “By using my experience as a businessman and a litigator, I will fight for the things that matter to the people in my community – more jobs, education, transportation reform, agriculture and fighting to keep our hospitals open. We have a long road ahead of us, but I am looking forward to spreading my message!”

A Conservative Republican, Gary Gerrard is a graduate of the University of Georgia and the University of Georgia Law School. He served in the United States Army, honorably discharged at the rank of Captain.

Gerrard has built a successful law practice and has served as the Chairman of the Oglethorpe County Development Authority, a member of The Oglethorpe Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the Board and CEO of Action, Inc., and was appointed by Governor Deal as a member of the Public Defender supervisory panel for the Northern Judicial Circuit.. Gerrard is married to Karen Green and has a daughter and two grandchildren.
