Barr Has Strong Fundraising Quarter
Nearly $125,000 Cash On Hand
Bob Barr, who represented Georgia in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1995 to 2003 and is a candidate to return to the Congress from the 11th District, filed another strong financial report with the Federal Election Commission (FEC). Barr’s first quarter report revealed his campaign received more than $121,150 in the first three months of the year, and had nearly $125,000 cash on hand remaining.
Derek Barr, Barr’s campaign manager, noted that “the broad base of support for Bob’s campaign is evident in the fact that more than 500 individual donors contributed to his campaign from January 1st to March 31st.” He also emphasized that the strong grassroots base for Barr’s candidacy is shown by the fact that the former Congressman received more than 340 donations under $100.
In a statement accompanying his campaign’s filing with the FEC, Barr said he is “thankful for the generous outpouring of support from people who know we need a Representative with proven experience to advance our conservative agenda in Washington.” Barr stressed that, “this experience is needed now more than ever in the face of the Obama Administration’s aggressive Big Government attacks on individual liberty and economic freedom.”
Derek Barr noted the following details about Barr’s successful fundraising quarter:
• Total Received: $121,155.39
• Cash on hand: $124,963.11
