Republican Esther Weathers, a fundraising consultant and political activist, announces campaign for Johns Creek City Council. Weathers will seek the Post 6 seat vacated by Council member Bev Miller who resigned in 2013 to run for Mayor.
JOHNS CREEK, GA (March 3, 2014) – Republican Esther Weathers is jumping in the race as a candidate for Johns Creek City Council. She is running on a platform of transparent government and good stewardship of the city’s finances. She understands that each dollar spent by the City of Johns Creek comes from local taxpayers and should be managed conservatively. For this reason, she is opposed to any increase in taxes and commits to the citizens of Johns Creek to never vote for a tax increase.
Mrs. Weathers stated, “As an active resident of Johns Creek, I want to give back to the community that affords my family the opportunity to live in such an amazing city.” She went on to say, “This place we live and call home is one of fastest growing, thriving and beautiful communities in all of Georgia. Mrs. Weathers lives in Johns Creek where she and her husband Seth were married and started their life together. They have a son, Michael Grady who keeps them constantly entertained along with his pal, a dog named Johnny Cash.
She attended Brenau University and was elected Chairman of the Georgia Association of College Republicans. She was also elected as Treasurer of the College Republican National Committee which had an annual budget of $2 million dollars. She went on to work for numerous political campaigns serving as Campaign Manager and Finance Director. She also spent 4 years as Director of Business Development with an Atlanta based technology firm. She then worked with several technology companies before starting her own fundraising consulting business focused on campaigns and non-profits.
