Members of the Coweta County Board of Commissioners are hoping to speed up plans for an interstate interchange for Interstate 85 at Poplar Road, and they are sending a letter supporting the project.
The commissioners unanimously voted Tuesday to send a letter of support to the Federal Highway Administration. Assistant Administrator Kelly Mickle suggested the board send a letter to the federal agency expressing continued support for the interchange.
Paul Poole made a motion to send the letter, which was seconded by Al Smith.
“Is there any update regarding that?” Commissioner Rodney Brooks asked.
King Evans of Clough Harbour and Associates, who works with the county on engineering projects, told the board a monthly meeting is set for Thursday involving the Federal Highway Administration, the Georgia Department of Transportation and CHA.
