Residents of Canton and Woodstock have joined the races for City Council elections taking place on Nov. 5. Qualifying took place last week for candidates officially to declare their intent to run.
Business owner Molly Lewis, who has been a nurse for 20 years with a background in geriatrics, announced her intent to run for the Ward III seat of the Canton City Council; she qualified on Aug. 27.
John Rust, Farris Yawn and Tom Sanders had qualified to run for the Ward III seat. Rust qualified Aug. 26, and Yawn and Sanders qualified Aug. 28.
