Cherokee Tribune – Council to vote on rezoning property for single family homes

WOODSTOCK — The mayor and city council will hold a public hearing and then vote on a rezoning request for property on Putnam Ford Drive at Eagle Drive, which would lower the density of homes to be built on the property.

The applicant requested rezoning and variance on the property, stating the land is now zoned for townhomes, at a density of nine units per acre. The applicant, listed as RES-GA TSL, LLC., wants to rezone the property and change the plan to create single-family homes at a density of three homes per acre.

“The proposed rezoning will actually decrease the number of dwelling units from 118 units to 46, so there will be a decrease in the use of the public infrastructure,” the applicant’s attorney, Parks Huff, wrote in a statement to the city in June.
