BOE increases millage by 4/100th’s percent – thomastontimes.com

Taxpayers will see a 4/100th of a mill increase in the Thomaston-Upson County School System tax millage this year. At their work session Tuesday night, the Board of Education (BOE) set their millage rate at 15.34 mills, up 4/100th of a mill from last year’s rate of 15.30 mills.

At their August 13 meeting, the BOE heard from Finance Director Kathy Matthews, who told them the slight increase in the millage was needed for the school system to collect the same amount of tax revenue that they did in the past year, due to the decrease in the tax digest.
