The Carrollton City Council will decide Monday if it will put Sunday packaged beer and wine sales on the Nov. 5 ballot.
A public hearing on the city’s proposed 2013-2014 budget is also scheduled for Monday.
A resolution calling for a Sunday sales referendum is on the agenda for the 6 p.m. meeting in the City Hall council chambers.
The proposal was first discussed by the council at its March 4 meeting after Mayor Wayne Garner said he received a letter from Kroger, asking the council to consider the measure.
“I always want to give people a chance to vote on things,” Garner said in March. “We did it on Sunday mixed drink sales and it passed pretty handily. Package stores passed by about 60 percent, so I assume this will pass.”
