Annual Georgia ag forecast meeting features Macon lawyer | Business | Macon.com

A Macon lawyer will be the guest speaker for this year’s annual Georgia Ag Forecast seminar to be held in Macon next week.

The seminar will be held Friday at the Georgia Farm Bureau on Bass Road. It begins at 9:30 a.m. followed by lunch, according to a news release. It is presented by the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environment Sciences, the farm bureau and the Georgia Department of Agriculture.

Will Thompson, an attorney with the firm James-Bates-Brannan-Groover will speak on farm succession planning and offer advice for farmers and agribusiness owners on how to pass their business to the next generation, the release stated.

Agriculture is the largest industry in Georgia and has an impact that’s felt throughout the state’s economy. UGA agriculture economists will discuss the factors that impact the state’s agriculture and give a preview of the 2014 growing season.
