Sandy and Danny were abandoned at a property in Douglas, GA. Understandably, they have trust issues and have not known a lot of love in their lives. Danny is the more outgoing of the two, (meaning he will allow you to touch him and pick him up once he feels you are not a threat). Sadly, at this time, Sandy does not trust anyone but Danny to be around her. This bonded pair will need family with an abundance of patience to teach them about love and trust. Because of their previous experience with abandonment, Sandy and Danny will need to be closely monitored in order to keep them from running for what they consider a safe place. Sandy relies heavily on Danny for comfort and confidence. Both were heartworm positive but have already received treatment here. Sandy and Danny will need a very special adopter with a huge heart. We would love for an adopter to come and meet them and see how sweet they are and help them be all they can be. They definitely deserve a better life than abandonment and/or being separated at this point in their lives.
Baxter was transferred in from an open admission facility at maximum capacity. He is a very handsome tricolor hound who weighs in at 56 pounds. Because of his size and very strong hunting instincts he needs a family prepared to handle his energetic response to wildlife! When taken out for his photoshoot, he caught sight of a squirrel and let out that famous deep hound howl. It took a few minutes to successfully redirect his attention. Happily, Baxter is good with other dogs and loves people. He will make a great pet for someone, but an apartment is definitely not recommended. Baxter needs exercise and an active owner or family. Email email@example.com for an appointment to meet this very sweet boy or stop by Tuesday through Saturday 11 to 4. Baxter is neutered, microchipped, current on core vaccines and has tested negative for heartworms.
