The City of Jackson, Georgia designated the first week of July as “Pamper Your Pet Week” in honor of Butts Mutts, according to the Jackson Progress-Argus.

The Butts Mutts animal rescue group, founded in 2014, works closely with Butts County Animal Control to foster dogs and find them new homes.

“Butts Mutts relies on donations, grants and community support to spay or neuter all dogs before leaving the shelter, pay for veterinary services rendered, assure current vaccinations and heart worm preventative treatments are administered prior to adoption,” the proclamation states. “Butts Mutts board members have recruited approximately 30 local foster families who have generously opened their homes and hearts to their newly adopted pets.”

“Butts Mutts volunteers provide daily walks and loving attention to the dogs in the shelter and we, the citizens of Jackson, Georgia, owe a substantial debt of gratitude to Butts Mutts volunteers.”
