Adoptable Georgia Dogs for January 23, 2014

Walker is a young, male Treeing Walker Coonhound who was hit by a car and broke his leg. He’s a little underweight at about 45 pounds, and is about one year old.

Sounds like a typical Coonhound temperament. He adores being a house dog (something he may have never been) although he has taken to housebreaking like second nature and has not had a single accident. When it’s time to go out, he goes to the door like a perfect gentleman and barks to let you know its time. He hops right up on the couch and lays down and is a very easy, low maintenance guy. Walker is laid back and sleeps in the bed at his foster home with two other dogs. He has no problem with other dogs what-so-ever and loves everyone he meets.

A great thing about Coonhounds is that they’re very active dogs when you have them outside. Running, playing, more running. Then when you get them in the house, they’re ready to nap for the next 22 hours.

Walker is available for adoption from the Rome-Floyd County Humane Society in Rome, Ga.

Nash is a pointer who was found stray and is learning to be an indoor dog. He is crate-trained and becoming housebroken.

He likes to run but will attempt to dig out of a fenced yard so he would need to be supervised during play time. However he is a great inside fellow. He is learning that it is okay to give kisses and climb up on the sofa to watch tv. Nash is not timid but he is somewhat reserved. Nash is a gorgeous dog with beautiful markings and has the looks – esp the head – of a pointer. He gets along with other dogs, but is unknown with cats or small dogs.

Nash is available for adoption (and all cleaned-up now) from Rome-Floyd County Humane Society in Rome, Ga.

Sparky looks like a big, old loveable goofball, and his foster home says he’s one to two years old. Housebroken, crate trained, rides well in the car. Gets along great with other dogs.
