WSB-TV reports that 19 dogs and a cat were taken from a hoarding situation in Cherokee County. The dogs are purebred Shelties and Great Pyrenees and appear to be victims of neglect.
As the dogs wind their way through the legal system, they are likely to end up at Great Pyrnenees Rescue of Atlanta in foster care.
Great Pyr Atlanta is in need of foster homes for these dogs and the large number of shelter dogs they take in, as well as donations for the care and feeding of these giants.
Cosmo is a ten-year old Great Pyrenees who lost his home because his owners got divorced. He is housetrained and up-to-date on his shots. He’s diabetic and requires affordable medication. Cosmo is great with children and protective of his family.
Beethoven is a three-year old male Great Pyrenees who is underweight at 50 pounds and will tip the scales at 75 once he gets to a healthy weight. He is well-mannered, if a little timid at first, and like to romp and play.
Sunshine really shows what the essence of a Great Pyrenees is: a 125-pound female who loves people, other dogs, and especially cats. Sunshine is 3.5 years old, spayed, up-to-date on her shots, and is looking for a home with a new family to protect and cats to live with.
