Adoptable Georgia Dogs for May 15, 2013

Ella is described as a Dalmatian, who is described as “one of the most fantastic, sweetest dogs” the volunteer helping her has met. She is available for adoption from Clayton County Animal Control at 1396 Government Circle Jonesboro, GA 30236. Shelley is a chocolate lab who is called a “beautiful girl–very kind” and is available for adoption from Clayton County Animal Control. If I were adopting a lab, I’d probably get an adult like Shelley as adults tend to be mellow, while the pups can be high maintenance and quite insane.

Ester is a 3-4 year-old female Black and Tan Coonhound who is available for adoption from the Murray County Humane Society in Crandall, Ga. Coonhounds make great house dogs, are very good for athletic homes, and give you an excuse to sing “Hound Dog” at home frequently. Great for runners too.

Spruce and Cedar are two young pups whose mom is an Australian Shepher/Sheltie mix and whose dad is unknown. They’re available for adoption from Angels Among Us rescue.

Speaking of Angels, they’re holding a Fore Paws! Golf Tournament on June 10th, beginning at 9:30 AM at Country Club of the South, 4100 Old Alabama Road, Johns Creek , GA, 30022. Entry fee is $150 per person or $500 for a foursome. Cherokee Ford Woodstock/Canton is providing a Ford Mustang as a Hole-in-One prize.

Rescue Success Story

Dakota is a black lab who was rescued by Verra, a GaPundit reader who writes,

“Due to your postings, I was totally motivated to rescue our new lab. I rescued him from Fischer Farms Rescue in Cumming. His name was Roger and they rescued him with one day to go in a high kill shelter. They had him for several months.”

“We have named him Dakota and he has found his forever home. The black lab is Dakota and the other picture shows him with his new sister Bella, who was also rescued some time ago. Thank you for your posting, I always look and send them on to people I know!”
