Adoptable Georgia Dogs for March 18, 2013

Charlie is a year-old Basset Hound/Corgi mix who weighs 35.4 pounds and is available for adoption from the Cherokee County Animal Shelter. He has been vaccinated, Heartworm tested, has had an initial flea/tick preventative, and will be spayed or neutered & microchipped upon adoption.

Brianna is a year old mix of Hound dog and Basset Hound, weighs 30.3 pounds and is available for adoption from the Cherokee County Animal Shelter; she has been vaccinated,heartworm tested, has had an initial flea/tick preventative, and will be spayed or neutered & microchipped upon adoption.

Lovely Lady is a 3 year-old Hound dog weighing 35 pounds who is available for adoption from the Cherokee County Animal Shelter. He has been vaccinated, Heartworm tested, has had an initial flea/tick preventative, and will be spayed or neutered & microchipped upon adoption.

Clover is a three-month old Pointer who weighs about ten pounds, has been vaccinated and is available for adoption from the Walton County Animal Shelter.

She currently has rescues pending, but no dog should be considered safe until they are out of the shelter.

Clover illustrates the quality of dogs and even puppies who end up in shelters; Pointers are highly-sought after for pets and hunting dogs, but still end up on death row. If you’re looking for a specific breed, let us know and we’ll keep an eye out.

Your seldom-humble author wound up in the poky this weekend, also known in Cherokee County as “Behind the Eagles” and needs bail money.

Your help with bail money is requested in the form of an online donation to House of Hope Rescue, Inc. in Elkton, Maryland. House of Hope is a rescue that saves a good number of dogs from the Gwinnett County Animal Shelter, from where they go to Maryland for foster and new homes.

Huck above has been pulled from Gwinnett County and will go to House of Hope after his heartworm treatment. Total bail is in the amount of $800, which will cover Huck’s heartworm treatment and boarding while he recovers from the treatment. Bail can be reduced to $600 for heartworm treatment only if someone is willing to step up and foster this guy while he recovers for his trip up north.
