Misty is a very playful young Pharaoh Hound and Italian Greyhound mix female who adores other dogs and all humans. She has a beautiful velveteen gray coat and mesmerizing hazel eyes. Bondok (meaning Hazelnut – for his color of his fur) is a Pharaoh Hound who came all the way from Cairo, Egypt in the hope for a better life. He was badly injured when he was hit by a car as a puppy and left on the street to die. No one stopped for him and took care of him until someone from ESMA – Egyptian Society for Mercy to Animals – ; saw him. His concussion was so bad that he was unable to walk for a long time. He still has a funny walk but it does not bother him on bit. He also has trouble seeing since his eyesight was damaged too. He needs guidance with stairs, so a house with lots and long stairs would not be good for him. For the fact that his eyesight is limited he does get around very well with no assistance.

He is a funny little guy with a lot of spark and lots of live in him. He would do best with one more dog or alone. He loves human attention and if you are looking for a dog to hang out with he would be it…..

Dogs and cats that get hit by cars in Cairo, Egypt get no help at all. No one will stop and check on them or bring them to the vet. They lay on or in the street until the are dead. So ESMA has devoted their efforts in saving them but with not home for injured animals they will end up in big shelters or back on the streets. So he was brought to the US.

My name is Lilly and I was rescued from the street of Cairo, Egypt. I am a Baladi dog, or street dog. Maybe I have some of the royal blood of a Pharaoh Hound, no one knows my history for sure. Most likely my mom was poisoned like so many dogs in Cairo. I am hoping of a better future, with no abuse or neglect. I am a little bit shy at first but once I know you – I will LOVE you – I love to play and run and would love to have a brother or sister but does not have to be….. A Yard -You see – I have never seen grass before and it is so soft – perfect to run and roll on. I am not very tall about knee high, so my foster mom thinks, I would do fine in an apartment too.
