Adoptable Georgia Dogs for June 5, 2013

GwinnettShepherdPuppy

This puppy is an eight-month old baby Shepherd mix, and she desperately needs a new home; she is available for adoption from the Gwinnett County Animal Shelter beginning Friday.

GwinnettSeniorDoxieAt the other end of his life is this male senior Dachshund who is missing most of his teeth and has cloudy eyes. He may not have a long life ahead of him even if he’s adopted, but he’s obviously served some family honorably and deserves better than to end his days in a cold steel cage.

Summer is tough at the Animal Shelters, with a huge influx of animals, leading inevitably to large numbers of euthanizations. In Gwinnett County, not a single dog pen is open, and they’re going to have to start making room for the new turn-ins and strays. If you’re considering adopting or fostering, please do so as soon as you can.

TiftonDixie1Dixie is a young female Hound Dog who reminds me of Dolly, my rescued Hound. Dixie is available for adoption from the Tifton-Tift County Animal Shelter for the low adoption fee of $65, which covers her spaying and first round of shots. That’s a significant savings over what the vetting would cost otherwise.
