Adoptable Georgia Dogs for August 6, 2013

In August 1958, Dahlonega citizens sent 20 ounces of gold to Atlanta on an 1830s-style wagon train; the gold was being donated to the state to gild the Capitol dome. Here is a photo of the Wagon Train from GeorgiaInfo.org, which has some more on the history of the Capitol’s Gold Dome.

Today’s dogs start with two reruns from yesterday – dogs who are in urgent need at the Walton County Animal Shelter and are in immediate danger of euthanasia. It’s inconceivable to me that these two lovelies haven’t been snatched up and taken to new homes yet.

Brandie is a 4-year old female approximately 20 pounds, who was turned in by her owner to the Walton County Animal Shelter in Monroe, Ga., where she awaits a loving home. She’s already spayed and gets along well with people, kids, and other pets. Monroe County Animal Control sets the gold standard for animal photography, and I believe that this helps more animals find homes.

Heidi is a nine-month old Shepherd mix female, who is available for adoption from the Walton County Animal Shelter.

Big Red is a Golden Retriever mix female who recently had a litter. The puppies have found permanent homes, while mama waits in a foster home with Angels Among Us rescue, waiting for her new family.

Bippity is a young female Golden Retriever mix who has recently become an Angels Among Us rescue dog and is looking for a new family.

We interrupt our yellow dog showcase to bring you this 5 year old female Jack Russell Terrier mix, LAdy, who is available for adoption from PAWS Humane in Columbus, Ga. Jasper is a handsome German Shorthaired Pointer (GSP) mix who needs a new home and is available for adoption through PAWS Humane in Columbus, Ga.
