A Third Floor Rumor

From the rumor mill:

The developers v. bankers squabble over Senate Bill 448, which would lower the amount recoverable by a third-party against a guarantor of certain loans, is said to be in a holding pattern in the state House at the behest of Rep. Larry O’Neal.

The criticism is that because Rep. O’Neal sits on the local advisory board of a bank, it may create the perception of a conflict of interest if O’Neal is trying to prevent a floor vote on the bill. The bank on whose local advisory board O’Neal sits on is a division of Columbus-based Synovus, which has opposed the bill.

Note that where no sources are cited, I could just be making it up.
