SNELLVILLE — Ask a room full of elementary school students if they plan to do a cannon ball this summer and their hands shoot up.
That’s what Sandra Deal did Wednesday morning at Partee Elementary. Deal, Georgia’s First Lady, visited the school to discuss water safety and tips to avoid trouble around the water on an ongoing tour of schools across the state. Deal read the children’s book, “The Polar Bear Who Couldn’t, Wouldn’t Swim” to several dozen Partee students in the school’s media center.
“It’s important because everybody wants people to stay safe and be alive,” said third-grader Casey Mattox, who added that it was exciting to hear from Deal and State School Superintendent Richard Woods.
