The Marietta Daily Journal – Officials speak about plans for

MABLETON — The head of the South Cobb Redevelopment Authority has a few ideas on how to spend the $10 million in bonds the authority expects to issue before the end of the year.

The South Cobb Redevelopment Authority on Monday in a 7-0 vote approved a resolution stating the authority board members intend to work with county staff to create a plan to spend the $10 million bond issuance.

The Cobb Board of Commissioners voted 3-2 at its April 14 meeting, with Bob Ott and JoAnn Birrell opposed, to approve working with the redevelopment authority to take steps toward a bond issuance.

Although this is just the beginning of what could be a months’ long process before bonds are issued, Ed Richardson, redevelopment authority chairman, said he has plans to spend the money in south Cobb.
