Adoptable Georgia Dogs for August 18, 2014

John Henry is a four-year old Shepherd/Basset Hound mix, who loves his sister, Essie, and is very bonded to her. They’d like to find a home together where they can play in a fenced yard.

They’re available for adoption from Heart of Georgia Humane Society in Macon, Ga.

George is a Chocolate Labrador Retriever & American Bulldog Mix puppy who is available for adoption from Carroll County Animal Shelter is located at 251 Automation Drive in Carrollton GA.

Ringo is an adult male Cocker Spaniel who is available for adoption from Colbert Veterinary Rescue in Colbert, GA.

Pauly is a young male Pibble mix who was saved from DeKalb County Animal Services, where he was suffering from demodectic mange, but he’s sure gotten better. According to his foster home, Pauly is such a sweet boy, so loving, smart, and good-natured. He shows absolutely no signs of aggression, and never will… he does not have that personality. He would be great with kids and other dogs, and just a great companion. He loves to walk, fetch, cuddle and eat. He asks permission to jump up with me on the couch or in my bed, standing there waiting for me to say it’s okay or not. When I say okay, he hops up and collapses in a perfect cuddle position, like all bully breeds seem to be professionals at.

Pauly is being fostered in a private home and is listed as a courtesy by Doggie Harmony.

Y’all may remember Ed. He was found stray in Dunwoody and taken to the vet, where he needed some serious help. GaPundit readers responded and donated $995 to Ed’s fund at the Vet.

Ed’s initial stay at the Vet to get him stabilized and deal with his immediate injuries cost about $600, and the remaining balance will be used toward his neutering and removal of a tumor once he’s recuperated a little bit. Ed’s living the good life in a foster home now, and his foster mom sent a message:

I decided to bring Ed home to my house last Saturday.   He was getting cabin fever as you could imagine at the kennel.  I am trying to foster him for the moment, but I am getting attached pretty quickly.

He is awesome.  Please see the attached new photos.   He is a BIG love bug.  He is a gentle giant.  All he wants to do is be near you and he loves being petted.   He still has a little weight that he needs to gain.   I also think he picked up kennel cough thus I am monitering that to make sure it is not something else.   He did vomit up his food this morning while I was upstairs so I am not sure if he ate too fast or coughed it up when he was trying to get out the mucus from the kennel cough.   I did feed him an additional meal before I left for work and he ate it all so it doesn’t seem that he has a lack of appetite, which is a good thing.

Ed and his foster mom send their thanks for helping him. For myself and Mrs. GaPundit, I wish to personally thank all who helped Ed and all who continue to help by supporting foster and rescue groups, telling your friends and family who are considering a dog about adoption and rescue, your prayers and support, and for helping to hold accountable those in government whom we entrust with our money and the animals who have no homes.
