The state of Georgia has sold $982.9 million in bonds at advantageous interest rates, Gov. Nathan Deal announced Friday.
The Georgia State Financing and Investment Commission signed off on four series of general obligation bonds primarily for new construction projects and renovations of existing facilities.
The state secured an interest rate of 0.87 percent on five-year tax-exempt bonds, 1.78 percent for 10-year bonds and 3.03 percent for 20-year bonds. Taxable bonds went for 1.33 percent interest on five-year bonds and 3.49 percent for 20-year bonds.
