Worth Solicitor-General Bryce Johnson to run for Senate District 13 | Albany Herald

ALBANY — Worth County Solicitor-General Bryce Johnson will announce this afternoon that he is running for the Georgia Senate District 13 seat.

In a faxed statement to The Albany Herald this morning, Johnson said he will make an announcement regarding District 13 at 3 p.m. today at the Tift County Courthouse in Tifton, 237 E. Second St. The letterhead on the announcement read “Johnson for Senate.”

Johnson is the first candidate to announce his intention to run after Sen. John Crosby, R-Tifton, announced Tuesday that he will not run for a new Senate term. Crosby cited a desire to spend more time with his grandchildren as a motivating factor in his decision to leave the Legislature, noting he was influenced by the recent death of his daughter.
