A bilingual victim advocate in the Chatham County District Attorney’s Victim Witness Program has earned another year’s funding from Gov. Nathan Deal.

This year’s sum of $72,027 brings to $288,108 total funding form the program started under former district attorney Larry Chisolm in 2010.

Teresa “Tere” Rivera will remain in the post as the county’s first bi-lingual victim advocate, helping those in the traditionally underserved Hispanic community work their way through the criminal justice system.
