The Georgia Department of Labor and the Technology Association of Georgia are teaming with Tennessee’s labor department to help connect many of the 50,000 to 80,000 veterans expected to return home to Georgia over the next four years with jobs in their home communities.
The organizations will host Paychecks for Patriots career expos on Oct. 17 in Metro Atlanta, Augusta, Columbus, Savannah and Warner Robins – as part of Georgia Labor Commissioner Mark Butler’s initiative to address the employment needs of service men and women, according to a statement released by the labor department.
The two states will collaborate with a number of private employers and associations in an effort to provide employment opportunities for veterans, guardsmen, reservists, and their spouses.
