The qualifying period for the Nelson City Council race ended at 4:30 p.m., Aug. 28, and a total of four people have put their names in for the November election.
According to City Clerk Brandy Edwards, council incumbents Jackie Jarrett and Edith Portillo qualified for re-election. The at-large election will also include resident Thad Thacker, who was the first to qualify.
