GEORGIA SENATE POLL — CANTOR WADES INTO VA-GOV — Kentucky, Arkansas ratings change — Committees’ summer messages — New Jersey Democrats debate – POLITICO Morning Score – POLITICO.com

GEORGIA SENATE — Republicans Phil Gingrey and David Perdue posted the strongest numbers against Democrat Michelle Nunn in a new survey by Democratic firm Public Policy Polling, with Gingrey and Nunn tied 41-41 and Perdue and Nunn tied 40-40.

Nunn polled two points ahead of Republicans Karen Handel and Jack Kingston. Against other Republicans, it was Nunn 41, Paul Broun 36; Nunn 42, Derrick Grayson 36; Nunn 42, Eugene Yu 35.

The numbers reflect an obviously tight race; they could also partly reflect Nunn’s name recognition and the large and thus far undefined Republican field.

PPP was in the field Aug. 2-4 and surveyed 520 Georgia voters. The margin of error was +/-4.3 percent. First look – plus the favorability rating for Nunn’s father, former Sen. Sam Nunn: http://bit.ly/12VCtEX.
