CANTON – With more than 95,000 tax appraisal notices for 2013 being mailed out Monday, the Cherokee County Tax Assessor’s Office has released numbers for the 2013 tax digest.
Cherokee County Chief Appraiser John Adams said in a news release Tuesday that property values are up.
“Not all properties in the county have increased in value, but a lot have,” Adams said. “And the ones that still went down didn’t go down as much as they have each of the last few years.”
The total gross tax digest for Cherokee County has gone up 2.8 percent from 2012, Adams said.
