Florida lawmakers adjourned Friday after approving a budget that does not include funding for Medicaid expansion, leaving 1 million uninsured, reports The Washington Post. Florida joins Georgia and 23 other states that have either decided not to expand Medicaid – or are leaning in that direction – as part of the Affordable Care Act.
The decision in Florida will stand, unless the Republican-controlled legislature comes back for a special session later this year—which some Democrats are calling for, the Washington Post reports.
