Adoptable Georgia dogs for May 1, 2013

We received an inquiry from an American in Saudi Arabia who writes:

Hey guys:

I’m here in scenic Saudi Arabia and discovered three puppies living on the compound with us. Anybody there want them? If I can’t find a home for them, they will probably be euthanized by the security staff. Ill pay for the shipping and the shots. (They just had their rabies and distemper shots).

Adrian is a 7-month old Weimaraner/American Staffordshire Terrier mix who is available for adoption from The Park Pet Haven in Atlanta, GA. He gets along with cats, other dogs, and people and is friendly and playful.

Misty is a Weimaraner mix who is available for adoption from Angel Dog Rescue in Georgetown, Ga. Misty is a really nice girl. She has had a really tough time but is all better now. Misty was quite afraid of men when she first arrived. She is still shy, but is getting more comfortable around people. Senior Alert

30929 is a senior (estimated 10 years old) male Golden Retriever mix who has been in the Gwinnett County Animal Shelter since April 10th and is considered urgent. Dogs don’t stay healthy to this age without being cared for, and it’s a shame that he may live his last few days out on a concrete floor before being euthanized. Can you spare a warm place to sleep for this old guy? A donor has volunteered to pay his adoption fee and I’ll throw in a brand new dog bed if a GaPundit reader adopts.

Frequent Fliers Zoe and Bella: Almost Urgent

Next are Zoe and Bella, a bonded pair of females with a story that could have been written by Ernest Hemingway whose living situation makes it urgent that they find a new home as soon as possible. If you’re interested in adopting or fostering these beauties, please email atlweimrescue@gmail.com

This lovely pair has quite a story. Zoe and Bella were born on the island of Abaco. Against island veterinarian’s advice, original owners purposefully bred their Weimaraner and German Shorthair Pointer. Irresponsible owners resulted in The Girls running loose on the island. A Good Samaritan living part time on his boat took an interest, and got them into rescue with us.

Zoe and Bella were adopted first by a great family with three children and were very well cared for, loved a lot! One child developed serious allergies that forced the family to give The Girls back to rescue to be rehomed.

The second and current family has had them for one year, been transferred, now have a much smaller house and a second baby added to the family. They have determined it is not fair to Zoe and Bella to have so little room, nor the attention and exercise they need and deserve.

These sweet girls are fully vetted and almost 6 years old….young enough to still be very active with long life ahead, yet old enough to be able to chill out when you need them to.
