David Schwarz filled out his campaign operation last week, announcing a lineup of veteran Republican operatives who will join lead strategist Bo Harmon.
“In a very strategic way, David chose people to complement each other, some with deep roots in the district, some with strong experience in Georgia campaigns, some who have expertise in electing younger, conservative candidates, some with a deep expertise in congressional races which have different rhythms than a local race or a statewide race,” Harmon said.
The campaign’s media operation will be run by OnMessage Media and principals Guy Harrison and Brad Todd.
Harrison served as executive director of the National Republican Congressional Committee from 2008 to 2012 and was a pivotal figure in the GOP picking up 63 seats in the 2010 elections.
Todd is a respected Republican media strategist who has helped elect 20 southern members of Congress.
Schwarz hired Brian Tringali of The Tarrance Group to handle his campaign’s polling. Tringali has worked with Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin, and Tarrance’s clients have included Gov. Haley Barbour of Mississippi, Gov. Tom Corbett of Pennsylvania, Ohio Gov. John Kasich and Georgia clients Tom Graves and Paul Broun.
Atlanta-based Capitol Strategy, a mainstay on many Georgia Republican campaigns throughout the last decade, will handle fundraising. Response America, who has worked with U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio(R-Fla.), House Speaker John Boehner and the Republican National Committee among others, will handle the direct mail.
Savannah-based Abshire Public Relations will handle media and public relations and Jud Seymour will direct political and grassroots operations.
Savannah victim rights leader Coren Ross, who helped get Meg Heap elected Chatham County district attorney, will direct the campaign’s efforts in Chatham County. The law firm of McKenna, Long & Aldrich will handle the campaign’s legal affairs.
